All About CBD tinctures

When you look at the different ways to take CBD, there is one that a lot of people like to use, and that’s CBD tinctures. There are a ton of options for you to use, and here, we’ll go over what they are, and the benefits of such. 

What are they 

They are concentrated forms of herbal extractions, and they come in a liquid type and are administered via a few drops each. CBD ones are made through steeping these flowers in high-proof alcohol.  The tinctures are usually also used with glycerin and vinegar in place of this, but alcohol offers the best tincture possible. The CBD oil tinctures are made through infusing the CBD isolate within the carrier oil of choice, either olive, MCT, or hemp oil. There are actually some benefits to the alcohol base, which include the following:

  • Their bioavailability is high, so it’s easily absorbed into the body as well 

Homemade or Store-bought? 

Some people may choose to make their own, others go commercial.The commercial ones use the CO2 extraction or an alcohol to create the purified form of the isolate, used in the carrier base. Because of this, a lot of tinctures get mislabeled as oils as well. While the oil-based ones normally don’t meet the definition used for tincture, this term gets to be used to market all of the concentrated CBD extraction that’s done in a dropper and is also taken sublingually and usually helps distinguish these tinctures from other products that are there. The quality tinctures offer convenience and a high level of purity, with the oil-based ones and the CO2 extraction ones are very potent. 

How to use 

They are concentrated, so you just need to use a few drops with this, and they have found that for micro-dosing the CBD, this is the best way to do it. Do they have Terpenes and Cannabinoids though 

There is evidence that shows that it does contain some cannabinoids in it, mostly CBD, but it’s not enough to create a really different effect. The concentration of this does base on the strain, and the cultivation means too. In a study done in 2012, it was found that the flowers did have CBDA in them, which is the precursor to CBD. Before the heat gets applied, this does contain cannabinoid acids, but it’s not the cannabinoids that we know. There are still studies that must be done on the strains with higher levels of THC, but it does have lower concentrations of this. What about terpenes though? Right now, there were terpenes found in this, that actually don’t exist in concentrations otherwise. These are friedelin and epifriedelanol, which are triterpenoids that do defend against predators, which are still being studied. 

Are there benefits? 

Right now, there isn’t a bunch of research on this, but from the trace amounts that we did find, there was something. Right now, there are studies that suggest that there are some inflammatory and other harmful conditions that could benefit from this. There are also different ways cannabis roots are therapeutic. 

Remember the triterpenoids that we mentioned? There is a potential for it to be protective of the liver, and it also may have anti-microbial effects to a degree, and also may be used to help with inflammation. It also contains choline, which is really good for nerve and brain growth and development and also keeps the nervous system working. So yes, there are potential benefits for this, and while it isn’t used all that much, there are benefits to be had. 

How often Should You Be taking CBD?

One question that a plot of people have when they take CBD is they ask how long they should be taking it, and how often they should take it. For those who are curious, usually, it’s answered by “whatever is what you’re interested in taking” and the key thing is, here we’ll go over why CBD is great for everyone. 

When is it Best to Take It? 

It’s best to take about 10 mg a day to start of the course, but when is the best time to take this. It’s been found that the morning time is the best time to be taking this, along with the other medications and supplements that you might take. But not everyone likes it, and some may prefer dinner, or right before they go to sleep. For most people, it depends on what you’re using it for. Some people feel more alert when they take it, so in the morning might be good. Some may take it in the afternoon when they feel exhausted to wake up once more. But if you’re the type who feels sleepy after consuming CBD, then you might want to take it at night. The thing to understand is that there is no right or wrong way to take CBD, and you can take it whenever you feel it’s good for you. 

Should I take it With Food? 

It can actually increase the bioavailability of this, which is a word for absorption. It is fat-soluble, so it will bind to the lipids and natural fats that are found in foods, boosting your absorption rate of the CBD when you take this. Some like to take it right before or right after a meal or take it with a snack so that it gets absorbed a bit better. 

CBD after a Workout? 

Some people wonder if they can take this after a workout. There are accounts that say that if they take it before and after, their performance gets better. Using CBD also attributes to the anti-doping landmark that was used to remove CBD from prohibited substance too. It’s not a psychotropic drug nor does it change the performance, so it isn’t the same as saying weed and other drugs.
